Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar on asking all the needs from Allah.

Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar bin al Khattab may Allah be pleased with him on asking all the needs from Allah.

Hisham bin Abdul-Malik entered the Kaaba, and saw Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Al-Khattab may Allah be pleased with him, and he said: O Salim! Ask me whatever you need. Salim replied: I am ashamed of Allah to ask another person in His house (Masjid al haram). When they left (came outside the Masjid), he (Hisham) again said: Now ask me something (as we are not in the house of Allah now). Salim said to him: From the needs of this world, or from the needs of the Hereafter? Hisham said: From the needs of the world (as he was not able to give anything from hereafter). Salim said: By Allah, I did not ask the world from the one who owns it(Allah), so how can I ask it from the one (meaning Hisham) who does not own it?
