How the sahaba and tabiyeen tried to do justice between their wives.
Ibn Abi Shayba narrated:
حدثنا أبو داود الطيالسي عن هارون بن إبراهيم قال : سمعت محمدا يقول فيمن له امرأتان : يكره أن يتوضأ في بيت إحداهما دون الأخرى .
حدثنا محمد بن بكير عن عبيد أبي الحرم عن جابر بن زيد قال : كانت لي امرأتان وكنت أعدل بينهما حتى في القبل .
حدثنا يحيى بن آدم عن شريك عن ليث عن مجاهد قال : كانوا يستحبون أن يعدلوا بين النساء حتى في الطيب ، يتطيب لهذه كما يتطيب لهذه .
Muhammad (Ibn Sireen) said regarding the one who has two wives. They (Sahaba) disliked that the man do wudu in first (wife’s) house and not in the house of other.
Jabir ibn Zayd said: I had two wives i did justice between them even in kissing.
Mujahid said: They (the companions) used to like doing justice between the wives even in perfumes. They used to wear perfume for first wife same way they did with other.
