Rule of the thumb on Asking help from dead

Allah says
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers – We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.[An-Nisa ayah 115] .
Ibne Kathir Commented
(and follows other than the believers’ way,) refers to a type of conduct that is closely related to contradicting the Messenger . This contradiction could be in the form of contradicting a text (from the Qur’an or Sunnah) or contradicting what the Ummah of Muhammad has agreed on. The Ummah of Muhammad is immune from error when they all agree on something, a miracle that serves to increase their honor, due to the greatness of their Prophet. There are many authentic Hadiths on this subject. (end quote)
.
Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar ra
إن الله تعالى لا يجمع أمتي على ضلالة ، و يد الله على الجماعة
Allah will never let my Ummah agree upon misguidance, and the hand of Allah is over the group (Jama’ah)[Saheeh Al-Jame 1848,Silsilah as-Saheeha 3/319 no: 1331] .
Comment: As it is proven that Ummah of Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him will never gather on misguidance, and we know that it is consensus of Shias and Sunnis and all the scholars of the Ummah are agreed upon that Asking only from Allah is not disputed issue, it is permissible to ask only from Allah. But there is a dispute in asking help from dead which is shirk according to SCHOLARS AND MUHADDITHEEN while shias and brelvis and some extreme sufis say asking from dead is allowed. So, one should only ask help from Allah and they should not ask help from dead.
