Refutation of : 3. Muhammad encouraged suicide attacks.

Above heading is itself wrong and author knew that is why he contradicted himself in very next line

He said

Suicide is against Islam. Martyrdom is not.

When he know suicide is against Islam then why he said Muhammad encouraged suicide attacks. ?? This is something strange and weired.

He said:

“Suicide bomber” is a derogatory term invented in the West to try and describe what in Islam is known as a Fedayeen or Shahid… a martyr. The point of the bomber isn’t suicide. It is to kill infidels in battle. This is not just permitted by Muhammad, but encouraged with liberal promises of heavenly reward.

Suicide has nothing to do with Islam and Suicide and martyrdom are two different things, The proof that Suicide is not allowed.

The Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever throws himself down from a high mountain and kills himself will be throwing himself down from a mountain in the Fire of Hell for all eternity. Whoever takes poison and kills himself will be taking poison in the Fire of Hell for all eternity. Whoever kills himself with a weapon (literally, iron) will be holding it in his hand and stabbing himself in the stomach in the Fire of Hell for all eternity. (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 5778)

It was narrated from Thaabit ibn al-Dahhaak (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever kills himself with something in this world will be punished with it on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5700; Muslim, 110.

Then he quoted

Sura (4:74) – “Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.”

Sura (9:111) – “Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.”

Sura (2:207) – “And there is the type of man who gives his life to earn the pleasure of Allah…”

Sura (61:10-12) “O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty? That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement.” This verse was given at the battle Uhud and uses the Arabic word, Jihad.

What these verses have to do with Suicide?? These verses are about Jihad, and auther have to learn about Jihad

The word jihad is general, Jihaad may be with the tongue (by speaking out), or with weapons (which fighting) or with money. Each of these categories includes numerous subcategories.

Regarding Fighting Allah says:

“And fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but be not aggressive. Surely, Allah loves not the agressors.” Surah Al-Baqarah:190

“On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person – unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land – it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our apostles with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land. (The Noble Quran, 5:32)”

Killing Women and Childeren is Prohibited even in war Unless or Until women themselves are trying to kill you.

During some of the Ghazawat of Allah’s Apostle a woman was found killed, so Allah’s Apostle forbade the killing of women and children (Saheeh Bukhari Volume 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 258: Narrated By Ibn ‘Umar )
It is narrated by Ibn ‘Umar that a woman was found killed in one of these battles; so the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) forbade the killing of women and children (Saheeh Muslim Book 019, Hadith Number 4320 Chapter : Prohibition of killing women and children in war)

a) Commentary of Ibne Kathir on Killing Women and Childeren.

Allah said:

﴿وَلاَ تَعْتَدُواْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ﴾

(but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors.)

This Ayah means, `Fight for the sake of Allah and do not be transgressors,’ such as, by committing prohibitions. Al-Hasan Al-Basri stated that transgression (indicated by the Ayah), “includes mutilating the dead, theft (from the captured goods), killing women, children and old people who do not participate in warfare, killing priests and residents of houses of worship, burning down trees and killing animals without real benefit.” This is also the opinion of Ibn `Abbas, `Umar bin `Abdul-`Aziz, Muqatil bin Hayyan and others. Muslim recorded in his Sahih that Buraydah narrated that Allah’s Messenger said:

«اغْزُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، قَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللهِ، اغْزُوا وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تَمْثُلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا وَلَا أَصْحَابَ الصَّوَامِع»

(Fight for the sake of Allah and fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Fight, but do not steal (from the captured goods), commit treachery, mutilate (the dead), or kill a child, or those who reside in houses of worship.)

It is reported in the Two Sahihs that Ibn `Umar said, “A woman was found dead during one of the Prophet’s battles and the Prophet then forbade killing women and children. ” There are many other Hadiths on this subject.

He quoted

The large-eyed virgins are mentioned in several places as well, including Sura (44:54) and Sura (52:20). For those who swing the other way, there are “perpetual youth” Sura (56:17), otherwise known as “boys” Sura (52:24) and Sura (76:19).

These are the verses

1).44:54

see the context

(51. Verily, those who have Taqwa, will be in place of security.) (52. Among Gardens and Springs,) (53. Dressed in Sundus and Istabraq, facing each other,) (54. So (it will be). And We shall marry them to Hur with wide lovely eyes,) (55. They will call therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security;)

Where on earth abu al kasem find any kind of suicide in above verses?? these verses are about those who have Taqwa ( i.e., those who fear Allah and are dutiful towards Him in this world,).

2) 52:20

Context

(17. Verily, those who have Taqwa will be in Gardens and Delight.) (18. Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire.) (19. “Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do.”) (20. They will recline on thrones Masfufah. And We shall marry them to Hur with wide lovely eyes.)

Ibne Kathir Commented We made for them righteous spouses, beautiful wives from Al-Hur Al-`Ayn.

Agian same reply there is nothing like suicide in these verses.

3). 56:17

There will wait on them youths who will not age,

4.) 52:24

(24. And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls.)

5) 76:19

And there will wait upon them youths who will not age. When thou seest them, thou thinkest them to be pearls scattered about.

Again nothing like Suicide in above verses, What is wrong in having servent?? No one ever raised allegations against those people who have servents, Because this is stupid. For example Presidents and rich people do have 100s of servents, no one ever said anything agianst these people. The example of the presidents and rich people is no where close to Paradise, it is just for understandings.

He said

From the Hadith:

Bukhari (52:54) – The words of Muhammad: “I would love to be martyred in Allah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.” This is why modern-day Jihadists often say that they love death.

Reply

There is nothing wrong in above wordings, and there is nothing like suicide in above hadith, and yes Muslims in Palestine and Afghanistan should say “We would love to be martyred in Allah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred” because the Armies attacked a Muslim land.

Note: Jihad never means Blasting anywhere in world. (see links provided before)

He quoted

Muslim (20:4678) – During the battle of Uhud, Muhammad was desperate to push men into battle. He promised paradise for those who would martyr themselves, prompting a young man who was eating dates to throw them away and rush to his death.

Muslim Book 020, Number 4678:

It has been reported on the authority of Jabir that a man said: Messenger of Allah, where shall I be if I am killed? He replied: In Paradise. The man threw away the dates he had in his hand and fought until he was killed (i. e. he did not wait until he could finish the dates).

In the version of the tradition narrated by Suwaid we have the words:” A man said to the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him). on the day of Uhud……”

This is beautiful hadith Masha`Allah, i don’t know what is the problem?? I believe auther should know about Battle of Uhud

It is mentioned in Sealed Nectar

In the wake of Badr event, Quraish was in common consent and started fresh preparations to launch an overall war against the Muslims in order to restore their blemished prestige and wounded pride. The most enthusiastic polytheists desiring to go into a new battle were ‘Ikrimah bin Abi Jahl, Safwan bin Omaiyah, Abu Sufyan bin Harb, and ‘Abdullah bin Abi Rabi’a. They were determined to crush the commonwealth of Islam once and for all. Emissaries were sent to all the tribes to make common cause against the rising Faith. As a consequence of this, they managed to enlist the support of two well-known tribes Kinana and Tihamah besides some desert bedouins Ahabish. It was also decided that the profits of the escaped caravan headed by Abu Sufyan, which amounted to 1000 camels and 50 thousand Dinars, should be devoted for providing equipment to the army. The Noble Qur’ân has alluded to this decision of theirs in the following words:

“Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the path of Allâh, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcomed.” [Al-Qur’an 8:36]

They also devised other ways of recruitment including hiring poets to entice the tribes into fighting the Muslims. Safwan bin Omaiyah allured Abu ‘Azza, the poet to work in this context in return for riches after the war or supporting his daughters if killed. Incidentally, this poet was prisoner of war (in the context of the Badr events) in the hands of the Muslims and the Prophet [pbuh] was gracious enough to release him unransomed provided he would not engage in fight against him.

he said

Muslim (20:4655) – A man asks Muhammad “which of men is the best?” Muhammad replies that it is the man who is always ready for battle and flies into it “seeking death at places where it can be expected.”

This is hadith

Muslim Book 020, Number 4655: It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Of the men he lives the best life who holds the reins of his horse (ever ready to march) in the way of Allah, flies on its back whenever he hears a fearful shriek, or a call for help, flies to it seeking death at places where it can be expected. (Next to him) is a man who lives with his sheep at a hill-top or in a valley, says his prayers regularly, gives Zakat and worships his Lord until death comes to him. There is no better person among men except these two.(end)

So yes whenever Muslim hears a call for help he should help, for example if a rapist if raping and a Muslim hears call for help of a girl he should help her.

after quoting this hadeeth author commented

(Tellingly perhaps, the next most saintly man in Islam is the hermit who lives in isolation “sparing men from his mischief.”)

This is his own observations and there is no need to reply because it is lie.

Author quoted

Muslim (20:4681) – “Surely, the gates of Paradise are under the shadows of the swords.” After hearing Muhammad say that martyrdom leads to paradise, a young man pulls his sword and breaks the sheath (indicating that he has no intention of returning) then flings himself into battle until he is killed.

Already replied by Shaykh Ansar Al-‘Adl in his beautiful article “Commonly Misquoted Verses and Narrations”

Misquoted narration #3

Bukhari: Allah’s Apostle said, “Know that Paradise is under the shades of swords.” (Volume 4, Book 52, Number 73)

This narration is quoted by some in order to depict Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as someone who glorified violence and killing. However, if the full saying is quoted in context, that image is immediately banished. The full saying is found in another narration:

…Allah’s Apostle in one of his military expeditions against the enemy, waited till the sun declined and then he got up amongst the people saying, “O people! Do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for safety, but when you face the enemy, be patient, and remember that Paradise is under the shades of swords.” Then he said, “O Allah, the Revealer of the Holy Book, and the Mover of the clouds and the Defeater of the clans, defeat them, and grant us victory over them.”(Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 266l)

This narration makes it abundantly clear that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught his followers to hate violence and never desire conflict with the enemy. However, in the event of a battle, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged his companions to be patient and informed them of the reward promised by God to those who die fighting oppression and injustice. This saying should be presented in its full context so that the reader may see that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a man who desired peace and patiently endured the struggles thrust upon him by his enemies. As Dr. Jamal Badawi mentioned about this narration:

The hadith deals with the situation where Muslims are forced to the battlefield as the last resort to defend themselves in which case the use of the sword may be necessary and martyrdom (self-sacrifice) is rewarded with Paradise.

He quoted

Muslim (20.4635) – “Nobody who enters Paradise will (ever like to) return to this world even if he were offered everything on the surface of the earth (as an inducement) except the martyr who will desire to return to this world and be killed ten times for the sake of the great honour that has been bestowed upon him.”

So what is the point of auther here?? Suicide?? no where it says anything regarding suicide, And Jihad is already cleared.

Author says

Whole Quran is full of such verses interested people should read Quran by themselves.

Social Drawback: I don’t think there’s need to give any particular example for the Suicide attack.

And i don’t have to tell you what Bad atheists,Christians and Hindus are doing in whole world. Can we impose the bad act of an atheist on other?? if yes then there is some problem in mind of author. and if no and surely it is no then the argument is bogus.

yes in palestine and all other parts where Muslims are being attacked and armies are killing Muslim males and raping Muslim females in that situation some of the scholars says that it is allowd to blow up only in front of those who are raping and killing Muslims if you have nothing with you to kill them.
