It is Narrated from Ibraheem al-Nakhiee “They disliked all the types of amulets whether they contained Quranic texts or not”[Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah: 23467] Ibraheem is Imam Ibn Yazeed Al Nakhiee Abu Imraan Trustworthy and he was one of the great Jurist, His saying (They disliked all types of amulets till end ) Means Companions of Abdullah bin Mas`ood like Alqamah, Aswad,Abu Wail,Al Harith bin Suwaid,Obaid as Sulemani,Masrooq,Rabee bin Khatheem,Suwaid bin Ghaflah etc and they are all big Tabiyeen [Fathul Majeed Chaper 8 ( باب ما جاء فى الرقى والتمائم) Chapter of Ruqa and Amulets]

f) Shaykh Saalih Al Fawzan said
An Amulet is defined as an object worn specially around the child’s neck as a charm to protect him from the evil and envious eye. However some scholars of our Salaf allowed attaching Qur’anic amulets, whereas others such as Ibn Mas’ud prohibited it all together.[Al-Mulakhas Sharh Kitab At-Tawhid Page no: 80 of Arabic and page 78 of English version]

g) Shaykh Zubayr `Ali Zaee said in one of his video:
“With regards to Qur`anic amulets then no such evidence is found from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or the Sahaaba (radhiallahu anhum) but some narrations can be found from Taba`een and Taba` Taba`een and there is a difference of opinion among the salaf on this subject. We don’t declare (purely) Quranic amulets as Shirk or Kufr but we say that it should be abstained from and if someone makes use of (pure) Qur`anic amulets then we won’t issue such fatwas (of Shirq and Kufr) against him.”(end quote)

Note: Most of the Amulets used in sbcontinent are not Purely Quranic, It was narrated from Zaynab the wife of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood from ‘Abd-Allaah that he said:

“I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘Spells (ruqyah), amulets and love-charms are shirk.” I said, “Why do you say this? By Allaah, my eye was weeping with a discharge and I kept going to So and so, the Jew, who did a spell for me. When he did the spell, it calmed down.” ‘Abd-Allaah said: “That was just the work of the Shaytaan who was picking it with his hand, and when (the Jew) uttered the spell, he stopped. All you needed to do was to say as the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say: ‘Adhhib il-ba’s Rabb al-naas ishfi anta al-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqaman (Remove the harm, O Lord of mankind, and heal, You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing which leaves no disease behind.’” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3883; Ibn Maajah, 3530)
