Accepting al-Jarh wat-Ta’deel from women

A Brother quoted the following:

Imām Ibn Qudāmah al-Maqdisee Raḥimahullāh: “And DO NOT accept any Jarḥ Wat Ta’deel (criticism and praise) from the WOMEN.”
● [كتاب المغني ١٠/٦٢]

And then he mocked at women because maybe some of them criticised his one of the favorite personality or student of knowledge.

You can have any opinion but mocking women was never agenda of the scholars who held this opinion. Right after that Ibn Qudamah said:
وقال أبو حنيفة : يقبل
Abu Hanifa said: It is accepted… [Ibid]

a) Imam Ahmad used to accept al-Jarh wat-Ta’deel of Women for Men. (Note: Ibn Qudamah was follower of Imam Ahmad in fiqh)

Abdullah bin Ahmad narrated from his father, Ahmad that He said:
حدثتنا أم عمر ابنة لحسان بن زيد، قالت: أبي عجوز صدوق
Umm Umar bint Hisaan bin Zaid said regarding أبي عجوز that he was truthful. [as-Sunnah no. 371, Tareekh Baghdad 14/433]

In short, Imam Ahmad (The Imam of Imam Ibn Qudama in fiqh) accepted the tadeel of his female teacher regarding men

b) Ibn Hajr al asqalani concluded this topic by saying:
والجمهور على جواز قبولهن مع الرجال فيما تجوز شهادتهن فيه
Majority of the scholars accept them (women) with men in it as their shahadah is allowed. [Fath al Bari (5/273)]

c) Asma’ bint Abu Bakr and her criticism of Hajjaj bin Yusaf.

She said:
Verily Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) told us that in Thaqif, there would be born a great liar and great murderer. The liar we have seen, and as far as the murderer is concerned, I do not find anyone else besides you. [Sahih Muslim 2545]

This is a severe Jarh, using a hadith against Hajjaj, considering him a murderer.

Various other examples can be given in this place, but this is sufficient. Jarh wa Tadeel is not field of lay people, be it men or women. The main point of making this post is to inform the lay people (including me) of facebook that do not use the statements of scholars to mock women.
