Women of this world will outnumber men in Paradise

Women of this world will outnumber men in Paradise.

Ibn Hajar al Asqalani said:

(everyone will have two wives) meaning from the women of this world, Ahmad narrated a hadith regarding the lowest ranked man from jannah with another chain from Abu Huraira ra that, He will get 72 houris apart from the wives of this world, but there is a narrator in its chain “Shahar bin hoshab” who is problematic. There is a long narration of al Suur narrated by Abi Ya`la from Abu Huraira from the Prophet peace be upon him that a Man will get 72 wives among the hoor al ayn and two wives from the daughters of Adam. And it is Narrated by Tirmidhi from Abu Saeed that the lowest ranked man will have 80 thousand servants and 72 wives (Tirmidhi said) this hadith is ghareeb. (Then he narrated some weak ahadith regarding number of hoor in jannah and said) Ibn al Qayyim said: There is nothing in authentic ahadith which mentions more than two wives apart from the hadith of Abu Musa which states, “In Jannah the believer will have a tent made of a single hollowed pearl” and “The believer will have his wives with him and he will visit them”. I say the last hadith was authenticated by al Diya. The hadith of Sahih Muslim states that the lowest ranked man will have two wives, What is meant is that the minimum that each of them will have is two wives…. Abu Huraira ra used this hadith of (everyone will have two wives) as a proof that Women will outnumber Men in paradise as it is mentioned in Sahih Muslim from Ibn Sireen as This is clear (from this hadith). But in the hadith of Kusoof goes against this where the Prophet peace be upon him said to the women ” I saw you in bulk amongst the dwellers of Hell.” It is answered that women are outnumbered in hell does not mean they are not outnumbered in jannah as well, There is another hadith which goes against this which states: “Amongst the inmates of Paradise the women would form a minority.” So here it is possible that the narrator narrated this narration with its meaning (Riwaya bil M`ani) i.e. its not the words of the Prophet peace be upon him rather its the understanding of the narrator that women are more in hell means they are lesser in jannah. (Ibn Hajar said) But this is not must (that If women are more in hell means they are less in jannah, they can be more there as well) Or the answer (to this hadith) is The women could be less in Jannah at the beginning. But after the intercession of Prophet peace be upon him for the sinners (women and men), they will outnumber men in jannah as well. [Fath al Bari 6/325]
